High tea and cupcakes
One of my dearest friends had a birthday this weekend and is very soon leaving us on a Spanish adventure (yes, a man is involved!) To celebrate I planned a yummy high tea with mini scones, ribbon sandwiches and, of course, cupcakes. Liza put in a special request for chocolate cuppies so I made Double Chocolate Cupcakes stuffed with Strawberry Ganache with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting (thankyou chockylit!) and topped these with handmade sugar flowers and sugar disks that spelled out her name. I also made some very ladylike Vanilla Sponge Cupcakes with Swiss Meringue Buttercream Frosting topped with handmade sugar pearls which were inspired by the gorgeous creations of Kel from sweet treats. Served with a lovely warm pot of Lady Grey tea and it was the perfect afternoon.
